Ryan Giggs opens the scoring for the hosts with a clever finish after great work by Van Persie to break away from Heitinga in the area. The striker teed up the Welshman who sent Howard the wrong way and rolled in a 12-yard effort off of the keeper's left-hand post, with the ball finally spinning into the net after an anxious second or so.
